Lately I've been collecting caterpillars to show the children who come to our farm field trips. One of our caterpillars made a chrysalis in the container I had them in, and when I checked it today, it was a beautiful butterfly. Look at the utter transformation! From a lowly, spikey, crawling existence, to a beautiful, delicate, flying machine. I want to be transformed like that! Makes me wonder what we will look like when we get to heaven. I'm excited!!!

This Gulf fritillary butterfly (Agriaulis vanillae) just came out of her chrysalis, and the caterpillar is what she looked like a couple of weeks ago. Amazing! These caterpillars like to munch on my Passion Vines. That is where you will find them. |

This is the same butterfly with open wings. |

She's drying her wings in the sun. |
